Today I trained with my coach, but because I’m menstruating I requested a modified workout. He respected my request with ease & even asked if I was ok with certain exercises before having me do them. He was perplexed to know that women globally face humiliation with such a natural function of human life, and expressed his support for women by taking a photo of me doing a modified leg exercise in place of squatting (which leads to increased blood flow and can cause “surprise” leakage. I’m a 30 year old mother of 3 who’s proud to have my menstrual. My coach is a proud 50+ year old Black American Man with a wife, mother, and many other women relatives. Support menstruating women, our menstruation is the key to healthy life from the individual level through conception, birth and beyond!

Coaching people to achieve Their Goals
This is not a subject that I have direct experience of, due to my male gender.
Nor is it a subject I’ve had discussion on (as far as I can recollect). Not with my dear-est wife, nor my sister, my female cousins, nor my nieces. How I wish the tide could turn and conversations happen in the open, with a view to de-stigmatising this natu-ral phenomenon of cycles.
I am hopeful that continuous awareness through #LetsTalkAboutIt and similar initia-tives will provide a channel for open discussions and dialogue, such that menstrua-tion is no longer viewed with disdain or something to be ashamed of.

28 days during so many years, sometimes complicated days, full of an invisible percep-tion, tiredness, strong emotions, as you need to appear “normal“ as usual, because you don’t speak about such things as your period in the good society, because Mrs Perfect cannot bleed nor be weak.
I wish women begin really to speak, with their words and with their bodies, and appeal for their voice to be freed and heard, in a world at last receptive.

Accept the female part in every man to welcome the diversity and yet the universal nature of women.

Period blood is the blood of life. First time, it means that you become a woman and you should be celebretad.
During more then forty years, every month it flows, reminding you of your power to give birth.
If you are able to and wish it, you can transmute it and become a real trantrika.

If we accept the cycle of the moon as nature, then why is the cycle within a woman’s body a taboo!

“Having lived and worked in Africa for so much of my working life, I have seen first hand and despaired at how menstruation affects women and girls. Westerners who can easily afford to access a huge choice have products have no concept how limiting it is to be cut off from available, easy-to-use, affordable products – let alone the stigma that surrounds the entire issue still. What Andelay is doing is decades overdue and of the utmost importance if women are to have any hope of having equal rights and being able to compete in the workplace.“

“Andelay represents the spirit of humanity in its highest potential. It is a clarion call to all those who know that we can do better than this, that we can learn “to human well” together. Finding ways to affirm the human dignity entitlement that is the birthright of every single woman on Earth, from birth on, is at the heart of Andelay. The visionary leadership of Maji-da Abdi brings warmth, joy, and caring competence to this endeavor. As she says, “We must return to a tradition that is not predatory but of sharing.“

“I support Andelay because I do care. My support is only a drop in all the help that is needed on the Earth, but drops together become an ocean which will change the world. Our children and grandchildren deserve to live in Peace and Love, with Dignity, Compassion and Equality. Our Earth deserves our compassion and responsible behavior. I believe in Maji and her Mission, because she is acting from pure heart.“

Andelay’s work is vital to humanity’s journey to inclusion and equality. Young women need to be encouraged, respected, and allowed to experience the same educational opportunities as young men. This is incredibly powerful work!
